National Testing Agency or NTA, the national level agency conducting JEE Main exam, said a public notice circulated in social media stating that engineering entry will take place in the first week of July is false. The NTA, an autonomous body under the Higher Education Department, Human Resource Development Ministry, Government of India, advised the candidates not to be fooled by such false information and fake notices.

JEE Main test, scheduled earlier in April, was postponed last week in March to prevent the spread of coronavirus outbreak in the region. It has come to the National Testing Agency (NTA) notice that a bogus public notice dated 14/04/2020 has been circulating in social media about the JEE(Main) examinations rescheduling to the first week of July 2020. Both candidates who are due to appear for the JEE(Main) exam are hereby told that the circulated fake public notice does not contain any facts, the Agency said in a statement released on Tuesday. The Agency also said it would take strict legal action against who is creating and distributing such false information. This is told the candidates not to be fooled by such false information and false notices. The NTA will also take stern action by filing an FIR under the relevant provisions of the IT Act and IPC against those unscrupulous elements who generate and spread this false information to deceive candidates, he said. It also requested candidates and their parents to rely solely on the credible information available on NTAs official websites, jeemain.nta.nic.in and www.nta.ac .. He said taking into account the requests made by students and parents, the decision was taken to extend the date of making corrections in the application form including selecting cities for centers.
